DONATIONS
VEFM is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing financial aid to owners whos beloved pets need Life-Saving medical emergency surgery or services. As of October 20, 2008, all donations made to VEFM are tax deductible under the IRS code! Please be sure to consult with your tax preparer for more information. A copy of our notification letter from the IRS can be found below.
Contributions to VEFM are deductible under section 170 of the IRS Code. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers and gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code. We have also been listed as a Public Charity under the Code.
We will make sure that anyone who donates to this worthwhile endeavor receives a letter indicating the amount and date of their donation. Please contact us if you have donated and have not yet received a confirmation letter.
We would like to be able to help many pet families in their time of need.

A note here about VEFM.
VEFM has been trying, for a long time, to raise enough funds to begin life-saving emergency financial help for those in need. It has been a real struggle for us to keep going. The economy is not in the best place and a lot of people don't have extra money to give. We understand that. There has been some negative press around the country in recent months about some non-profit groups. (No, not ours). It has been said by some that those people involved in some non-profit organizations around the world, use money donated for their own personal needs. While that has never been said about VEFM, it needs to be addressed.
Let us make this very clear. Every penny that has ever come in to VEFM has been used to by VEFM spread the word and try to encourage others to donate to help folks less fortunate, who are in the middle of an emergency crisis with their beloved pet. Most donations are small and are used to help offset the cost of printing supplies, postage, mailing envelopes, overhead etc. And yes, we have the records to prove it.
Dr. Schroth and her husband, have taken money out of their own pockets, at great expense to them, to keep this wonderful project going. They do not take a paycheck of any kind, and probably never will, or use any money for themselves. A used vehicle recently donated to VEFM, for use by the organization, has been repaired several times, by them, with their own money! VEFM doesn't even pay for the maintainance or gas to go to meetings or events, they do!
Doing things right IS that important to them! The very exsistance of this organization depends on them doing the right things. It also depends on people like you. Hard working honest people. People that see a need and want to help. We cannot do it alone. We simply need your help! Any donation, no matter how small, helps us to get the word out.
